Phoenix Resources Djibouti projects 2017 – 2021


Over the past 5 years Phoenix resources has been increasing it’s commitments to supplying furniture, equipment, school, technical and office supplies and other resources; at no cost to the end users, apart from assistance with transport and export licences which have been covered by the organisations and the relevant government departments as listed below.

 All of our projects are overseen by the President’s office and the First Lady, who has also provided a warehouse for us. In addition, we have worked with organisations and charities directly supported by the First Lady including the UNFD and the orphanage, Daryel Pouponniere.

Djibouti Navy

Provision of diving and snorkelling equipment and other resources to support the children swimming programme run by the diving team.

 Djibouti Army

Supply of non-military equipment including furniture, stationary, exercise, even a complete boxing ring so that they can; not only teach boxing in the army, but also with social outreach programs in the community.

Police

Supply medical equipment and consumables to the newly established Police hospital. A dynamic unit that not only provides medical, healthcare and hospital services to the police and their family, but also to the local community. The hospital is the first in the country to undertake cancer treatment. Some of the medical equipment supplied to the police from our partnership with Farla medical. We also supply essential PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), office furniture and other essential resources to the main Police force

National Guard

Supply of office furniture, stationary and other essential equipment.

Social Minister / Secretary of State

An extensive supply of resources for projects and organisations dealing with families in extreme poverty, including shoes, food, clothing, medical, healthcare items, hygiene items, disability aids including wheelchairs, specialist beds, rehabilitation mattresses, walking frames, white sticks for the visually impaired, sewing machines and fabric for a female empowerment programme.

Phoenix have supplied sunglasses to a whole region to help with a congenital eye disease which helped with their sight and increase in quality of life.

Health Minister

Provision of hospital equipment including recovery and CPR beds, ward beds, consultation beds, wheelchairs, PPE, medical consumables including bandages, catheters and other consumables covering ophthalmic, gastro, paediatric, colostomy and equipment including stethoscopes, defibs, nebulisers, uniforms amongst other items.

Supplied over $1million worth of protein shake and mixing beakers along with over $1million of hygiene supplies to some of the impoverished areas of the city.

Working with our UK knitting and sewing program we have supplied 1000’s of new handmade dresses, hats, jumpers, mittens and blankets for babies and young children across Djibouti.

Minister for Higher Education

Working with the minister, Phoenix has supplied a large quantity of equipment, furniture and further education equipment and supplies to help with the refurbishment of the University in Djibouti.

Supplied specialist equipment worth over $200,000.00 to the medical training hospital including a fully fitted out training ambulance, resuscitation dolls, computerised simulation doll that trains on illness recognition, effects and complications with medicines and vaccines in real time, microscopes, other technical equipment, consumables for training, educational and other specialist training materials including anatomical models.

Education Minister

Supply of school equipment and resources including furniture for primary and secondary schools, books, learning packs, educational games in French, pens, educational toys, sensory equipment and sports equipment.

  • Provided furniture and equipment for a hospitality training resort in the Arta region.

  • Provided over 1 million pens and pencils.

  • Designed and built an outdoor sensory play garden and indoor sensory play area for the first disabled school in Djibouti.

  • Provided essential play, educational and craft resources and furniture to some of the most impoverished youth centres in the country.

Minister for youth and culture

  • Put in solar lighting to a youth play area.

  • Started and continue to develop youth empowerment and youth action programme working with students from the university.

  • They organised a distribution of clothes, shoes, food, baby supplies to 12 families from a very poor district whose houses caught fire and they lost everything.

  • Our UK youth team visited several schools in the area to develop youth engagement, social action and mentorship programmes along with presenting and providing prizes at a youth achievement award ceremony.

Sports Minister

Working with the sports minister to provide various sports equipment and furniture.

Project with the Djibouti football association and FIFA Africa providing furniture and technical resources for the new youth football training academy.

Provided equipment to the National football stadium.

 

Air Djibouti

As part of an ongoing partnership with the National Carrier and Aviation Authority we have provided equipment and furniture to help with the refurbishment of the airport and associated projects.

Booker Group and Carluccio’s

Provision of pallets of food including rice and flour and cool bags for food and over the counter medicine for redistribution

 Office Depot and L’Oreal

Office Depot and L’Oreal have gifted us millions of pounds worth of resources including office furniture, educational furniture, PPE, tissues for general healthcare, cotton pads which have been used by the baby care in both hospitals and orphanages and as eye protection pads.

Northampton University

Whilst the University have provided a vast amount of equipment and resources over the last years, in one two-week period due to a campus relocation they provided 16 containers of highly sought-after equipment, furniture, technical equipment and a variety of other resources. This has included a training ambulance, computers, high end teaching resources, even display cabinets for the Museum in Djibouti city.

 ACN Inc / Benevita

ACN provided over $2 million worth of Protein powder, shakers and hygiene supplies which we were able to distribute to those most in need in the country.

 Cotswold Outdoors

Through this partnership, Cotswold Outdoors provides us with in excess of £1million pounds in resources each year. This includes clothes from brands including North Face and Nike, shoes from brands including Nike, Adidas and Hunter, sports equipment tents, shelters and camping equipment which have been used to help those in extreme need including the homeless and displaced. The shelters have even been used in the Sensory / disabled school project.

Farla Medical

Through this new partnership we have provided over £100,000 worth of medical supplies to the training hospital and to the newly established Police hospital.

Our partnerships with MIlbrook Healthcare, Various NHS Trusts, HR Healthcare, Optimocare Group, Intercare, The Solution House, Dalen Medical, Full Support Group, AgeUK, 1st call mobility, GE Healthcare, Envirotec, Nuby, ASDA, PAL International, Grahame Gardner Ltd, Gymphlex and Virgin Care have enabled us and continue to enable us to send millions of pounds worth of medical and healthcare resource to areas of great deprivation especially in Djibouiti.

We have developed some new and exciting partnerships with Pharmacy4U and Chemist4U (the UK’s largest independent Pharmacy and Chemist chain) and the Palladium group and the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) with the first shipments of resources already enroute to our UK aid warehouse.
